Greetings, Readers!

The summer issue of Apples 'n Oats is now in readers’ hands, with subscribers and advertisers having received advance copies. The new front cover features a paint foal after an Iowa summer shower. The photo was submitted by Shannon Hiersman of Iowa City.

Apples ‘n Oats will have a presence at the World Percheron Congress in Des Moines in October. I will have a vendor’s booth there, where complimentary magazines will be made available to the huge crowds which they are expecting. If you would like to be included, please give me a call or send an email.

As always, various equestrian businesses in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and other locales throughout the Midwest have complimentary copies available for distribution.

For your convenience, subscriptions are also available. Back issues are $5.00 apiece.

Calendar of Event inclusion in the print version of this magazine is FREE! As an added bonus to those of you who choose to also advertise your events, those entries will show up as BOLD. It is my goal to make this calendar as all-inclusive and expansive as is humanly possible. But I need YOUR help. Please keep me in mind and continue to send your club’s and/or organization’s information as it develops. I really appreciate it (and so do my readers!).

Please remember the new magazine feature, which is the Business Directory section, . For only $10/issue, or $36/year, you can list your business or organization there. Advertisers get a free listing. If you would like to be included, please send your business name, contact person, and all contact information, along with a 20-word (or less) description of the business. This should prove to be a very beneficial portion of the magazine.

This website is kindly created and maintained by Scott Eilers, who also happens to be my son. Here you will find sample articles from the current issue, and a Past Articles section as well, where you can access a smattering of archived articles from previous issues. Included throughout are articles about health, nutrition, activities, legislation, training, first-person experiences, and so much more. There is something for everyone in Apples ‘n Oats!
